PDEA dismantles 2 drug dens in Davao

DAVAO CITY: Anti-narcotics operatives dismantled two suspected drug dens that led to the arrest of 14 suspects during simultaneous anti-illegal drug operations over the weekend.Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) spokesman Noli Dimaandal said a total of 31 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P474,000, and assorted drug paraphernalia were confiscated by the joint forces of the PDEA, Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation in separate operations in the region.He said the first buy-bust was launched in Purok 5, Barangay Southern Davao, Panabo City where 11 grams of shabu, worth P174,000, were seized.Six drug suspects were arrested, including alleged drug-den maintainer Dante Burgos alias Butsoy, 42 years old.According to Dimaandal, Burgos was marked as No. 10 in the city’s target list.Also arrested during the operation were Jayson Agustin, Mark Chester Biagcong, Jocelene Burgos, Judy Cano├▒ero, Ruel Cano├▒er and Analyn Tubo, who were caught having a “shabu session” inside the residence of Burgos.Meanwhile, the second drug-bust operation, in Purok 1-B, Barangay 76-A, yielded some P300,000 worth of illegal drugs.The operation also resulted in the arrests of drug-den maintainer Rudy Valdez and his suspected cohorts, namely Rambo Andulao, John Mark Baguinda, Joshua Demain, Kenneth Dunguran, Goljhne Dymsoy, Patrick Henry Escandor and Jamil Abdul Rahman.Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
